DO'S AND DON'TS OF KITCHEN DESIGN

Designers have seen everything from overloaded stainless steel sinks to substandard cabinets, from laminates to travertine tiles, from paint to mosaics. Here are some tips for you.

Do's and don'ts of kitchen design.

 Don't be bored.

The best kitchens have a friendly, warm and personal soul. Each project is a chance to do something new and creative. It's not just cabinets and countertops - the whole room has to sing.

 Raise cabinets to ceiling.

Do not allow cabinets to reach the ceiling. Eventually they will collect dust and garbage. The glass front panel makes the space airy.

 Design under the hood.

Stand out and make an impression with an apron. Use glass mosaics, chair railings, subway tiles, medallions and even book panels.

 Know when to stop.

Don't overdo it. Knowing when to stop is the real challenge and the key.

Use lockers to hide some appliances.

Don't go overboard with stainless steel appliances. It can be a great touch, but there must be rhythm in its placement.

 Make a small kitchen.

Don't think the more the better. A kitchen with thoughtful details can make a small space perfect for you.

 Leave room to breathe.

Don't go overboard with your storage rooms and cupboards on the walls. The ideal layout is a balance between storage, functionality and aesthetics.

Invest in solid and beautiful wardrobes.

Don't fall in love with cheap wardrobes. You'll be opening and closing doors all the time. Reliable hinges and high-quality cabinets have come a long way.

Ovens must have a worktop and an apron.

Do not place the wall-mounted oven alone. After removing it from the oven, leave room for the turkey.
